Pygmy Corydoras (Corydoras pygmaeus)
The Pygmy Corydoras is a tiny, peaceful catfish with a dark stripe running along its silver body. Unlike many other corys, it spends time swimming together in the middle of the aquarium as well as exploring the bottom.
Pygmy Corydoras do best in a mature, planted aquarium with a soft sand substrate and places to shelter. Keep at least 6 together, preferably 10 or more, to help them feel confident and show their natural group behaviour. Their small size makes them best suited to other gentle, similarly sized fish.
Feed small sinking foods that reach the bottom, supplemented with finely sized frozen or live foods such as baby brine shrimp and daphnia. They need regular feeding and should not be expected to live on leftover food alone.
