Celestial Pearl Danio (Danio margaritatus)
The Celestial Pearl Danio, also known as the Galaxy Rasbora, brings remarkable detail to a planted aquarium. Its dark blue body is covered in pearl-like spots, while its fins show vivid red and black markings. Males often display their strongest colours as they interact with one another.
These small, peaceful fish do best in a mature aquarium with dense plants, gentle flow, and open spaces to explore. Keep a group of at least 8–10; a larger group helps them feel more confident. Choose other small, gentle tankmates that won’t outcompete them for food. They may eat baby shrimp, so they are not a reliable choice for a shrimp breeding tank.
Feed a variety of tiny foods, including crushed flakes or micro pellets and small frozen or live foods such as baby brine shrimp and daphnia.
